Mechanical Issue Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflow on February 24, 2026

Sanitary Sewer Overflow Advisory dated February 24, 2026, warning about potential sewer overflow issues.

(February 24, 2026) – OLWS staff responded to a sewage overflow at Lift Station #3 (2704 SE Park Ave) on Tuesday, February 24, at approximately 3:40 A.M. that resulted in the release of approximately 225,700 gallons of sewage into nearby Kellogg Creek.

The incident was caused by a mechanical failure during heavy rains.

Staff have placed signs informing area residents about the spill in the vicinity of the incident. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has also been notified.

As a precaution, the public should avoid contact with the water for at least two days due to the possibility of bacterial contamination.
