Friday, July 30, 2021. Information on Surface Water Management Project on Jennings Ave.
As part of the Oak Lodge Water Services District’s Surface Water Management Program, we will be working in the stormwater ditch along the eastern edge of the apartment complex (5200 SE Jennings Ave.) to remove sediment.
The sediment contains persistent pollutants from roadway runoff, including heavy metals and oils, along with nutrients from yard debris and fertilizers. All of this gathers at the bottom of this drainage ditch. We will be removing about 4 truckloads of sediment. This project will help protect wildlife downstream, as this water flows into Boardman Wetlands, and eventually into the Willamette River.
The project will be completed in 2-3 days between August 2 – August 6.
