(January 7, 2022) – Heavy rainfall overwhelmed a pump station (1706 SE Oak Shore Ln.) on Thursday, January 6 at 8:30 am. This resulted in an ongoing intermittent release of sewage into the Willamette River. As of 6:30 am the overflow has stopped.
Staff placed signs to inform area residents about the spill in the vicinity of the incident. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has been notified.
As a precaution, the public is advised to avoid contact with the water for at least two days due to the possibility of bacterial contamination.
