Resources for Teachers and Students

Oak Lodge Water Services District is committed to working with our community to provide the tools and knowledge to protect our water environment together. If you’re a teacher and you’d like to find a way to bring more in-class, hands-on, or outdoor experiences to your students, consider contacting OLWS. We will tailor an in-class program and help coordinate a site visit to our drinking water and sewer treatment plants.

We have partnerships with several non-profit environmental education providers who are available to provide experiential education opportunities students.

In an effort to foster the next generation of environmental stewards, the District also works with Clackamas River Water Providers to offer schools in the district FREE water education opportunities. Click on the link provided below for a complete list of classroom activities and teacher resources, all available to teachers at no cost.

Classroom Presentations

In an effort to reach more classrooms in our area, the District works with many partners, including Clackamas River Water Providers, Ecology in Classrooms and the Outdoors, and Schoolyard Farms to offer more options for classroom presentations and hand-on learning. Our focus is to show students the value of water, the impact they have on the water cycle, and what processes are necessary to both bring water into their homes and take stormwater away, and clean wastewater.

Through our partnerships, OLWS offers a number of FREE classroom presentations that are appropriate for grades K-12. We would like to be a water education resource for you. If you need assistance coordinating a water education lesson of your own or would like assistance incorporating water education into your existing curriculum, please let us know.

To schedule a presentation for your class, or if you would like more information, first take a look at Clackamas River Water Providers and then contact alexa@olwsd.org
