Heavy Rain Causes Sanitary Sewer Overflowing to the Willamette River
(March 14, 2023) – We responded to a sanitary sewer overflow (SSO) at Lift Station 2 located at 1706 SE Oakshore Ln Milwaukie, OR 97267 on Monday, March 13. Lift Station 2 started overflowing at 12:49 PM and stopped at 6:09 PM on Monday, March 13.
This was caused by the heavy infiltration of rain into our collection system. To read more about inflow and infiltration as well as the investments we’re making in the system, click here.
The public is advised to avoid contact with the river for 48 hours after the overflow because of increased bacteria in the water.
